Most refrigerator deodorizers are made from sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or from charcoal. Our Refrigerator Fresh deodorizing crystal is made from a naturally-occurring crystal of alum, mined in Thailand. Some people confuse alum with aluminum. While aluminum is a metal refined out of bauxite (a naturally-occurring mineral ore), alum is a compound found in naturally occurring crystals.
Our crystals last longer than the sodium bicarbonate boxes or the charcoal products used in refrigerators, which are recommended to be replaced every month or two. Refrigerator Fresh deodorizing crystal lasts up to 12 months. To refresh, just rinse the container in water every two months. It is compact, non-toxic and spill proof and removes odors up to 12 months! It’s perfect for the fridge or freezer.
Refrigerator Fresh can also be used in bathrooms, closets, cars, boats, garbage and diaper pails, gym lockers and sport bags. Wherever the air needs a little more freshness!
The EcoGanic logo indicates its environmentally-friendly status. No trees are sacrificed and burned to create charcoal, producing smoke and polluting the environment.
Ted Alflen in Pampano Beach, FL. was concerned about aluminum in deodorants when his mother-in-law passed away from breast cancer. He founded TCCD International in 1991 and began producing and distributing non-aluminum-containing deodorants and roll-ons, based on naturally-occurring mineral crystals. Nutraceutical acquired the products in October, 2013 from TCCD International and incorporated the Refrigerator Fresh crystal into the FunFresh Foods line.
