All Vitamins Are Not Created Equal
While the debate continues over synthetic versus natural vitamins, it is important to keep in mind that vitamins derived from inorganic chemicals may be combined with undesirable substances such as sugar, artificial colors, preservatives, and coal tars. There is substantial scientific evidence that vitamins derived from natural sources are more readily absorbed and assimilated by the human body. Protein-bonded vitamins have been shown to have some advantages much in the same way as chelated minerals do (see mineral section). Always read label breakdowns and purchase vitamins that come in protective, dark, containers. Gel-capsulized vitamins or tablet forms that breakdown in the stomach are also recommended. Remember, more is not always better and use reliable sources for vitamins that are pure and potent.
